“ည ၇ နာရီခြဲေလာက္မွာ စေလာင္တာ ၊ ဆိုလာျပားကေန စေလာင္တာလို႔သိရတယ္၊ ေက်ာင္းသားေတြက ေအာက္ထပ္မွာ စာၾကည့္ေနၾကေတာ့ စေလာင္ေလာင္ျခင္းမသိလိုက္ဘူး မီးအရွိန္တက္လာမွ သိၾကေတာ့ အဝတ္အစားေတြ ေက်ာင္းစာအုပ္ေတြ ပစၥည္းေတြ အကုန္ပါသြားတယ္၊ လူထိခိုက္မိတာေတာ့ မရွိဘူး” ဟု၎ ကဆိုသည္။

ေဘာ္ဒါေဆာင္တြင္ေနထိုင္ေသာ IDP ေက်ာင္းသူေက်ာင္းသားမ်ားကို ယခုေလာေလာဆယ္တြင္ မူႀကိဳေက်ာင္းမွာ ယာယီေနထိုင္ခိုင္းထားေၾကာင္း ၎တို႔အတြက္ စာအုပ္ စာေရးကရိယာႏွင့္ ေက်ာင္းစိမ္း ေက်ာင္းျဖဴ အဝတ္အစားမ်ား အေရးတႀကီးလိုအပ္ေနၿပီး ေဘာ္ဒါေဆာင္ျပန္လည္ေဆာက္လုပ္ရန္ အတြက္လည္း အကူအညီမ်ားလိုအပ္ေၾကာင္း Deacon ေအာင္ဆိုင္းေနာ္ ကေျပာသည္။

This is my urgent information about fire accident in Sin Lum and urgent appeal for the emergency needs of the Boarding students (IDPs) in Sin Lum kaba.

Yesterday late evening, 13/8/2018 around 7:30 pm, fire broke out inside "Holy Rosary Catholic boarding house" in Sin Lum kaba village, while the IDP students were studying in the study hall, downstairs. The fire consumed all the belongings of the students and the whole upper part of the building, thanks to be God for 'no one got hurt'.

This boarding house has been newly built in 2015 for the children of the IDPs who had voluntarily returned to their original villages from Sin Lum areas which include Pang Shan village, Maru village, Aura village, Sin Lum Kaba village, Law Mun village. This is the only boarding house serving the Children to be able to access government education in this mountain area. Every year 20 to 25 students, boys and girls, have been staying in this boarding house for their education and after grade eight, usually, they moved to the schools in Momauk town and Banmaw town.

It seems the fire started from the candle light sitting on the upper girls' dormitory. There is no electricity available in this areas, normally the boarding house depends on a generator for electric provision but it was broken for three days. Therefore, using candle light is one of the only ways for lightening for study.

Holy Rosary Boarding house in Sin Lum kaba is situated on 6050' feet above see level and if there is no landslide on the way, it is one and half hour drive from Banmaw town and one hour drive from Momauk town.

The students are in desperate need of clothing, blankets, mosquito nets, hygiene materials, umbrellas, etc. and above all to build emergency shelters for the students is the most urgent needs.

I would like to request all, to kindly extend your kind hands to help the students in Sin Lum to quickly recover to normal situation and continues their education.
